As quoted on their website from Time Magazine, Wikileaks “… could become as important a journalistic tool as the Freedom of Information Act.”
Wikileaks is a site dedicated to making secret documents become public knowledge: Anyone can go onto the site an anonymously upload anything from Sarah Palin’s emails to videos from the war (both of which have been previously uploaded). It has been stated on this now notorious website that it’s mission is “…exposing oppressive regimes in Asia, the former Soviet bloc, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East…”
Wikileaks has found itself the center of controversy with its recent release of thousands of secret U.S military reports on the war in Afghanistan.
